If you like LinkedIn Zip, try Wayfold

Zip on LinkedIn is a number path puzzle: one line, every tile, the numbers in order. Wayfold is our daily puzzle of the same kind. The rules match, so this page is mostly about how the boards differ and how to solve them faster.

Tips for Zip players

Corners first

A corner tile has only two sides, so the path uses both. The same goes for a tile boxed in by walls or by path you have drawn. Settle those before you start a long drag.

Never close a loop

Pieces of path you have worked out may sit apart on the board. Joining the two ends of the same piece would make a loop, and a loop is never part of the answer.

The chessboard check

Picture the grid as a chessboard. Every step changes color, so two numbers on the same color are an even number of steps apart, and two on different colors an odd number. If a route you have in mind breaks this, it is wrong.

The Wayfold guide has every technique, including how to look a few moves ahead on hard boards.

Questions

Is Wayfold made by LinkedIn?

No. LogicSnack is a small independent studio, and Wayfold has no connection to LinkedIn. Our boards come from our own generator, and our own solver checks each one before it goes live.

Is Zip the same as Hidato?

They are close relatives. In Hidato every tile ends up with a number, you fill in the missing ones, and the path may step diagonally. In Zip and in Wayfold only some tiles have numbers, you draw one line through all of them in order, and the path never moves diagonally.

Can I play more than one Wayfold puzzle a day?

Yes. Every past daily Wayfold stays in the archive, and the game page has 300 practice puzzles in five sizes. Practice puzzles don't touch your streak.

Is Wayfold free?

Yes. You play in the browser on a phone or a computer. There's no app to install and no account to make.
