If you like LinkedIn Patches, try Parcels

Patches on LinkedIn is built on Shikaku, a Japanese puzzle about cutting a grid into rectangles. Parcels is our daily Shikaku. It keeps the classic rules, so one kind of Patches clue is missing, and the board grows through the week.

Tips for Patches players

No icon? List the shapes

For each number, list the rectangles of that size that hold it and no other number. Near an edge or other numbers, the list is often just one long. A 1 is always a single tile.

Ask who can reach a tile

Pick an empty tile and ask which numbers could cover it. If only one can, the tile belongs to that number, and every shape of it that misses the tile is out.

Claim the tiles every shape covers

Even before you know a rectangle's exact shape, some tiles are inside every shape it could still take. Those tiles are settled, and no other rectangle may use them.

The Parcels guide shows each technique on a real board.

Questions

Is Parcels made by LinkedIn?

No. LogicSnack is a small independent studio, and Parcels has no connection to LinkedIn. Our boards come from our own generator, and our own solver checks each one before it goes live.

Is Patches the same as Shikaku?

Patches is built on Shikaku, and the core rule is the same: rectangles that cover the grid, one clue in each, and the number is the size. Patches adds shape icons to its clues. Parcels keeps the classic rules without them.

Can I play more than one Parcels puzzle a day?

Yes. Every past daily Parcels stays in the archive, and the game page has 300 practice puzzles in five sizes. Practice puzzles don't touch your streak.

Is Parcels free?

Yes. You play in the browser on a phone or a computer. There's no app to install and no account to make.
