Printable Shikaku puzzles

Parcels is our daily Shikaku, a puzzle of rectangles. It is one of the friendliest to solve by hand, and a good way to practice multiplication with children.

Per page

In the print dialog, choose A4 or Letter and turn off the browser's own headers and footers. Every sheet already carries the date and our address.

The last seven days

Today's puzzle and the six before it, the same boards everyone plays online. The answers follow, except today's.

The rules

  1. Split the whole grid into rectangles. Squares count too, and so does a single tile.
  2. Each rectangle holds exactly one number.
  3. The number is the rectangle's size, in tiles. A 6 can be 1 by 6, 2 by 3, 3 by 2 or 6 by 1.

Every puzzle has exactly one answer, and you can always reach it by logic alone.

Solving on paper

Draw each rectangle's sides with a firm pencil line. Big numbers near a corner have the fewest shapes, so place them first, and a 1 is always a single tile.

Questions

Can I copy these for my class or club?

Yes. Print and photocopy as many as you like for your home, classroom, library or puzzle club, free of charge. Please keep the logicsnack.com line on each page, and don't sell the sheets.

Where are the answers?

On the last pages of each pack, numbered like the puzzles, 12 to a page. If you want to solve first, print the puzzle pages only: the print dialog lets you choose pages.

A4 or Letter?

Both. The sheets are sized to fit either paper, so you only choose it in the print dialog. Two puzzles per page gives bigger boards for young solvers; four saves paper.

Is there a PDF to download?

There's no file to download. Press Print and your browser lays out the pages. To keep a PDF, pick "Save as PDF" as the printer in the same dialog.

How often are there new Parcels puzzles to print?

Every day. Parcels gets a new daily puzzle at midnight, so the sheets for the last seven days change each morning. The practice pack stays the same.
